Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between urgent care and emergency care for pets?
Urgent care is for medical issues that need prompt attention but are not immediately life-threatening, such as vomiting, limping, or minor wounds. Emergency care is required for severe or life-threatening conditions like difficulty breathing, seizures, or uncontrolled bleeding.
Do I need an appointment for urgent care at Absecon Veterinary Hospital?
No appointment is needed. We welcome walk-ins for urgent care services 7 days a week. Sun-Fri 9am-5pm, Sat 9 am-12pm
What should I bring when I come for urgent care?
Please bring your pet safely secured in a carrier or on a leash, along with any current medications and medical records (if available).
How long will I have to wait for urgent care?
Wait times vary depending on the number of urgent cases being seen. We do our best to triage pets based on the severity of their condition so that those in most need are seen first.
