Meet Kim Mitchell, VMD, CVA

With her parents’ support of her love of animals, and growing up with dogs and

other small creatures, Dr. Kimberly Mitchell knew she wanted to work with

animals at an early age.

Prior to vet school, she volunteered and worked at Parkway Veterinary Hospital

for 3 years. While she was in school, she traveled to India and worked for a

non-profit animal sanctuary in New Delhi!

Dr. Mitchell graduated at Ferrum College in 2008 as a part of the Boone Honors Program with a Bachelor’s Degree in pre-med with minors in biology and forensic science. She then went on to study veterinary medicine at Saint George’s School of Veterinary Medicine and has been with Absecon Veterinary Hospital since graduating in 2015.

Her professional interests include acupuncture/Chinese medicine, surgery and dentistry. She is a member of the American Animal Hospital Associate, American Veterinary Medical Association, Fear Free, and World Association of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mitchell became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in October 2022.

In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, kayaking and anything else she can do with her hound mix Rufus. Her goal is to make sure every pet is able to live a happy life without suffering.
