Meet Greta Niedermeyer, VMD
Being a veterinarian is in Dr. Greta Niedermeyer’s blood. Both of her parents
are vets, and she always wanted to be one, too.
“Animals have been an important part of my life, and I knew that I wanted to
help people provide the best care possible for their beloved companions,”
she said.
Dr. Niedermeyer, who grew up in Southern Maine, attended the University of
Scranton, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in biology and philosophy.
She was a member of the class of 2021 at the University of Pennsylvania School
of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, she also performed a summer internship at the PennVet Working Dog Center. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Fear Free (Certified Professional), the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners.
Her professional interests are exotics, preventative medicine, and surgery. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, and spending time with her cats Pooka and Selkie, rescues from the streets of West Philadelphia.
