Meet Dr. Jennifer Wintergrass

Dr. Wintergrass joined the team here at Absecon Veterinary Hospital as

an Emergency Veterinarian in February of 2020. After graduating from

Delaware Valley University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in

Animal Science and minoring in computer information and technology,

she furthered her education by attending Ross University School of

Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Wintergrass completed her clinical year at the

University of Pennsylvania and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary

Medicine in 2013 with highest honors.

Dr. Wintergrass was first inspired to become a veterinarian while caring for her first cat named Madonna. She began her journey in the field as a veterinary assistant in 2004 and eventually become a veterinary technician. She also completed an externship at the Philadelphia Zoo dealing mostly with the children’s zoo and birds of prey as well as volunteered at Tabby’s Place and Special Equestrians.

Dr. Wintergrass finds being an advocate and a voice for animals to be the most satisfying part of being a veterinarian and loves how exciting and evolving the profession is as well. She is a proud member of VECCS and the AVMA. Her professional interests include Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Radiology (ultrasound).

While at home, Dr. Wintergrass enjoys spending time with her three cats Peggy, Dinky and Denise. Her hobbies also include DIY projects, painting, arts and crafts, and video games.
