Meet Dr. Hanum Wensil-Strow
Growing up on a small farm in Elkridge, Maryland, Dr. Hanum Wensil-Strow,
developed a passion for pets and their well being at a very young age. This
passion led her to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. During her
undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland, she completed several
internships at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, the USDA, Patuxent Wildlife
Research Center, and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. She later went on to earn
her Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris from the University of Pennsylvania School of
Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation she completed a mixed animal internship
in Texas, and later relocated to New Jersey practicing as a mixed animal veterinarian
prior to joining our team.
She was the proud recipient of over 15 veterinary scholarships and enjoys spending her time presenting to prospective graduates on scholarship opportunities in veterinary medicine. Dr. Wensil-Strow says, “figuring out an obscure diagnosis and getting to know a whole family and all of their animals” is what she loves most about being a veterinarian. She continues “I also love the feeling at the end of the day that you worked hard towards something really important!”
Dr. Wensil-Strow has special interest in Dermatology, Preventative Medicine, Exotics and Surgery. She is actively involved with her local shelter and is a member of the Penn Vet Alumni Association.
She shares her home with her partner Jeff and her fur kids Penny Lane, Walrus and Eleanor Rigby! In her spare time she enjoys traveling, baking, cooking, hiking, exploring new restaurants and reading!
