Meet Dr. Cassandra Bruno, VMD

When she was growing up, Dr. Cassandra Bruno’s parents let her pursue her

interests in wildlife and exotic animals.

 

So it’s no surprise that the Mahwah, NJ, native‘s professional veterinary

interests include exotics, wildlife and surgery

 

After attending Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, where she received

a pre-veterinary degree, she went on to Ross University for veterinary school,

with her clinical year spent at Auburn University in Alabama. Dr. Bruno

graduated in January 2019.

 

Among the things she finds most satisfying about being a vet are “Problem solving, finding new and effective ways to treat pets with new technologies, and educating pet owners,“ she says.

 

Dr. Bruno, who joined the staff of Absecon Veterinary Hospital in July 2021, has two mixed-breed dogs, Ninja and Molly, from St. Kitts; Mango, a lovebird; parakeets Captain Crunch and Luci; a red eared slider named Geoffrey; and Pablo, a bearded dragon.

 

In her leisure time, she enjoys gardening, hiking and interior decorating.
